"It’s a lot of fun for us to raise money for CMN," says Ken, whose team was West Coast champion last year. The T-shirts feature the racing team and CMN logos. This year, every shirt sold will generate $9 for CMN. The fund-raising potential is exciting with some of the six regular season races, and world finals, attracting more than 100,000 people each.
When he’s not racing his two-seat, fully enclosed "cigarette" boat, which is capable of speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour, Ken keeps busy with his other team- selling real estate at the Re/Max office owned by Gary Thomas. He joined his father, Don, at the office in 1983. Today, the team includes Ken’s younger brother and sister and is among the top five Re/Max performers in the western region and the top 35 in the world.
Don & Ken have been supporting CMN through Re/Max since 1992. "Anything you can do to benefit people is important," says Ken, "but we especially like to concentrate our efforts on helping children."
